2011 Suzuki Kizashi: Game On!
http://www.suzukiinthenews.com/2011-suzuki-kizashi-game-on/The new Suzuki Kizashi continues to deliver a whole new alternative to expensive sport sedans, offering the same kind of handling and braking performance as cars like the Audi A4 or Mercedes C-Class, but for tens of thousands of dollar less. So it just makes sense that Suzuki also is taking a whole new approach to introducing the Kizashi to customers—the company has now become the very first automaker to develop a high-performance racing game specifically for Apple’s iPhone and iPad.
The Kizashi Ring of Fire driving game is available as a free download from the App Store and builds on Suzuki’s successful online-only version. For the iPad and iPhone, Ring of Fire gives gamers the chance to virtually pilot the Kizashi through four different fantasy racetracks, “located” in Tokyo, Siberia, Alaska and Los Angeles. The Kizashi SE is the hero vehicle on the first two introductory tracks, while the Kizashi Sport GTS takes to the tarmac on the other, more challenging circuits.
And gamers take note: Ring of Fire is no low-tech effort from Suzuki. The automaker also marked another gaming first with the new app: It’s the first commercial game to leverage Brass Monkey’s innovative new remote-control technology, which relies on the iPad/iPhone motion sensors to deliver dynamic steering and game play. In addition, players can activate a digital all-wheel-drive setup that upgrades handling or download special Suzuki boosts that take the virtual Kizashi into a super-fast warp mode.
We are very excited about Suzuki being the first to use Brass Monkey in a digital marketing campaign,” said Chris Allen, president and chief technology officer of Brass Monkey Inc. “The Kizashi Ring of Fire is fun on its own, but steering the car with your iPad or iPhone as a controller really makes it an immersive experience. It’s almost as if you are driving the actual Kizashi, because the mechanics are very similar to using a real steering wheel.”
How similar? After downloading Ring of Fire, be sure to visit your local Suzuki dealer to test drive the Kizashi and find out for yourself.
